NO TAX ADVICE: While Filmhub wants this make easy for you, we do not provide tax, legal or accounting advice. This material has been prepared for informational purposes only, and is not intended to provide, and should not be relied on for, tax, legal or accounting advice. You should consult your own tax, legal and accounting advisors.

Overview

For foreign users, Filmhub is required to withhold a portion of royalty payments and pay that to the US tax authority. The amount depends on your country you live in. For example, we are required to withhold 10% of payments to Canada, 0% of payments to Germany.

Once a year, Filmhub reports these withheld amounts to you. With this report, you should be able to reclaim these amounts from your local tax authority. Please ask your local tax advisor how to do this. Again, we cannot help you with tax advice - please see our NO TAX ADVICE disclaimer above.

To summarize:

  1. Filmhub (by law) withholds a part of payments to outside the US

  2. You receive a report yearly

  3. You claim the withheld amounts back from your local tax authority
