Removing a Title From Your Channel
When a title is removed from your channel, here is what to expect and how to respond.
When a Title Is Removed
A licensed title can leave your channel in a few different ways:
- Rights expiration — the title's avail end date passes and the license expires automatically
- Producer-initiated takedown — the title's rights holder requests the title be removed from distribution
- Channel-initiated removal — you request that a specific title be removed from your channel
In all cases, the license will show as Removed in your catalog view.
Requesting a Title Removal
If you want to remove a title from your channel, contact your Filmhub account manager with the title name and SKU. Filmhub's ops team handles removals internally.
Takedown Timeline
Once a removal is initiated, channels typically process takedowns within 30 to 60 days, depending on each platform's contractual takedown period. When a takedown is initiated, you will receive an email from Filmhub Rights Management with the title name, SKU, and a link to the title in the app. You will be asked to:
- Remove the content from your platform
- Reply to confirm completion
A response is required within 48 hours. Questions about a takedown notice can be directed to channel-operations@filmhub.com.
Producer-Initiated Takedowns
Occasionally a title's rights holder may request a takedown. In this case, Filmhub will notify you and initiate the removal process. You may see the license status change to Removed in your dashboard.
If you receive a takedown notice for a title and have questions, contact your account manager.
Rights Expiration
If a title's avail end date passes, the license will expire and the title should be removed from your platform. If you have questions about an expired license, contact your account manager or email channel-operations@filmhub.com.
