Metrics:

All metrics displayed use Amazon’s terminology directly. Amazon does not provide strict definitions of these metrics or how they are calculated. We’re providing our definitions for the metrics below based on our experience and information publicly available in Amazon’s Help Center.

  • Minutes streamed: How many minutes your content has been streamed. Reported multiple times per week.
  • Unique streams: The total count of unique streaming sessions. If for example a viewer switches devices or pauses, then hits play, that counts as an additional unique stream. Reported multiple times per week
  • Ad Revenue: Ad revenue from AVOD licenses from limited regions. Reported monthly.
    • This might not be a full reflection of your revenue from AVOD at Amazon. It reflects only certain ad revenue unspecified by Amazon from limited regions or countries.
  • Ad Impressions: Ad impressions from AVOD licenses from limited regions. An impression occurs whenever an ad is displayed while a viewer is watching your content. This may apply only to AVOD ads or also include ads displayed on SVOD licenses. Reported monthly
  • Quantity: The number of TVOD rentals and purchases. Reported monthly

Filtering by time:

You can set a different time period using the filter in the top right: 30 days, 12 weeks. When you select a time period the chart will display using the selected units (days or weeks). Selecting your time period will apply to all panels below.

Panels

A set of panels further segment the metrics to provide additional insights. You can download a CSV of the data from any panel by clicking the download icon in the bottom left.

Top Titles

Top Titles breaks out the insight metrics across your catalog. It’s really useful to see how your titles compare to each other. Clicking on any individual title, will add it as a filter giving you an isolated view of that title’s performance across all insight metrics.

Region

Different parts of the world access Amazon through separate storefronts (i.e. Amazon.com vs. Amazon.co.UK). The Region panel displays insight metrics divided into Amazon’s major storefront groupings: U.S., U.K., Japan, Germany, and Rest of World.

Offer (Consumption) Type

Amazon uses the terms “Offer Type “and “Consumption Type” to describe the monetization model used by viewers: Prime (SVOD), AVOD, Rental, and Purchase. You can learn more about these monetization models here. This panel is a helpful tool to look beyond the $ of your earnings and better understand how your titles are earnings revenue.

Locations

The locations panel dives even deeper on where your viewers are watching, allowing you to better understand your audience. Prime Video is available in over 200 countries.

Quality

The quality panel divides insight metrics into the resolution standards used by viewers: HD or SD. Quality data is specified by transaction quantity only.

Filtering

Selecting any entries within a panel will apply that entry as a filter for all charts and panels. This is an easy way to segment your data. You can deselect any entry at the top of the Chart to remove your filter.

Estimates vs. Final Data

Amazon continuously provides estimated data, which is later adjusted to final data. Data is typically finalized after three months and automatically updated. It is common for data to change between estimates and final data for a variety of reasons due to differences in how Amazon tracks data in the short term and long term.
