      How To: Manage Your Avails (Available Rights)

      How to set up and manage your available rights if there are any restrictions of which we need to be aware.

      What are Avails?

      With Filmhub, you are 100% in control of your title and determine which rights are made available for licensing. The industry term for available rights is Avails. In order to promote your title for licensing opportunities, we will need you to let us know your Avails.

      💡Important Note: The more Avails you provide, the more viewership and revenue your title will generate!

      If you ever need to update your Avails after you submit your title, please message support@filmhub.com with the necessary updates. This includes updating us whenever you deliver your title to channels outside of working with Filmhub.

      🌎 Manage your available rights

      1️⃣ Step 1: Please click the dropdown arrow next to “Worldwide” and, if you have any limited rights, please remove any unavailable license type(s): Ad-Supported, Subscription, and/or Transactional.

      If applicable, please also set your rights to have a start date ("Available from") and/or end date ("Available to").

      💡Tip: If all rights are available for your title, the best way to maximize viewership and earnings is by selecting all three licensing types.

       

      2️⃣ Step 2: Please select your title’s available countries.

      Each country will be represented by its name and country code (i.e. Denmark = DK). Simply type, check, or uncheck the continents and/or individual countries that you wish to include or exclude.

      💡Tip: If all countries are available for your title, the best way to maximize viewership and earnings is by selecting “Worldwide.”

       

      3️⃣ Step 3: Our goal is to maximize the reach of your title and avail it to as many Channels as possible. If you are a member of the Producer+ community and would like to block Channels, please reach out to your dedicated acquisitions manager. If you are not yet a member of the Producer+ community and would like access to this feature, join here.

       

      4️⃣ Step 4: Once your title’s available rights have been added, please select ‘Save Progress’ at the bottom of your screen.

      This step is vital. If you don’t Save Progress, you may lose the information you just added to your Filmhub account.

      Examples of Avails settings

      🗓️ Set a future available date

      • Why: With this setting, your title will only be available after the specified date. This allows you to start the submission process before rights fall back to you. Please note that this is not a release date. We do not guarantee a single release date across multiple channels.

      • How: Add all license types, select "worldwide", and add a start date.

      🚫 Exclude Ad-supported licenses for all countries

      • Why: With this setting, your title will be available in all countries for subscription and transactional licenses only.

      • How: Select only Subscription and Transactional, and "Worldwide.” Leave the dates blank.

      🚫 Exclude all Asia-Pacific countries except for Australia

      • Why: With this setting, your title will not be available for all license types in all Asia-Pacific countries except for Australia. All license types will be available in Australia.

      • How: Add all three license types. Select "Everywhere except these countries", click the "Asia Pacific" check box to quickly fill in all Asia Pacific countries, and remove Australia from the list. Leave the dates blank.

      🚫 Exclude Ad-supported and Subscription licenses in the US

      • Why: With this setting, your title will be available for all license types everywhere - except in the United States, where only Transactional license types will be available.

      • How: Select all three license types and “Worldwide.” Click “Add Avails.” Select only the Transactional license type and select “Everywhere except these countries.” Type in “US.”

      ✔️ Include only Transactional licenses in Germany

      • Why: With this setting, your title will only be available for Transactional licenses in Germany.

      • How: Select only Transactional, select "only these countries", and type in “Germany.” Leave the dates blank.

      🗓️ Set availability end date for licenses outside of North America

      • Why: With this setting, all license types will no longer be available outside of North America after a certain date.

      • How: Select all three license types and “Worldwide.” Click “Add Avails.” Select all three license types, "Everywhere except these countries," and check "North America.” Enter the availability end date (i.e. December 31, 2024).

      🗓️ Include all license types worldwide except the rights will not be available in the US until 2025

      • Why: With this setting, your title will be immediately available everywhere except for the US where it will become available starting January 1, 2025.
      • How: Select all three license types. Select "Only these countries” and add the United States. Put in the availability start date. Click “Add Avails.” Select "Everywhere except these countries" and add the United States. Leave the dates blank.
       

      "What's missing?" and "Submit"

      In order to submit your title, all required information and assets must be provided and ready for review. The "What's missing?" button (located in the top right corner) will let you know what information and assets are missing or incomplete. Once all required information and assets have been provided and are ready for review, the "What's missing?" checklist will be empty and the "Submit" will become clickable.
