Filmhub's Distribution Process in 6 Steps

A step-by-step guide on how partnering with Filmhub works.

  1. We Acquire Your Title for Distribution

Once you submit your Movie or Show for distribution, our in-house Quality Control (QC) team reviews your title to make sure it meets the technical requirements needed for distribution. Depending on the option you select, your title will go through either Standard QC or Premium QC

With Premium QC, our team will also attempt to fix minor technical issues on your behalf to help your title pass review. If we identify issues that we cannot resolve for you, or if your title is submitted through Standard QC, we’ll email you with the necessary next steps. To help ensure a smooth submission, see How To Submit Your Title For Distribution and review Filmhub’s Asset Requirements.

  2. We Pitch to Channels

Once your title passes QC, our Licensing team begins pitching it to Channel Partners where it meets their content requirements and programming strategy.

Our team understands what different Channels are looking for and uses that knowledge to identify the best licensing opportunities for your title. While each Channel ultimately makes its own licensing decisions, Filmhub manages the pitch process and advocates for your title along the way.

You can track these pitches and buyer reviews in the Updates section of the Dashboard. It can take anywhere between 4-6 weeks for a channel to decide whether they want to license the title.

See How Filmhub Sells Your Movies & Shows article for more info.

  3. We Secure Licenses

When a Channel decides to license your title, Filmhub handles the next steps. We package, process, and deliver the required assets according to that Channel’s technical specifications.

Every new license will appear in the Licenses section of your My Titles page, so you can track where your title has been licensed. This does not indicate that the title is live.

See the Managing Titles and Tracking Updates article for more info.

  4. Channels Release Your Title to Viewers

After your title is licensed, Channels typically release it within 2-12 weeks of delivery. It can occasionally take longer, depending on each Channel’s operations and programming strategies.

Note: We do not receive release notifications from Channels; however, certain Channels will share when the title is live via the Updates tab. You can also review the 'Finding Your Titles' section within each description within the Filmhub Channel Partners page.

See the Managing Titles and Tracking Updates article for more info.

  5. Channels Send Performance Data

As viewers begin to purchase, rent, or watch your title, Channels send performance data to Filmhub according to their individual reporting schedules.

You can see when each Channel reports performance data by checking the Performance column in the Schedule tab of your dashboard.

Once Filmhub receives this data, your title’s performance and earnings can be tracked in your dashboard.

See the Performance article for more info.
  6. You Get Paid

Once your title generates revenue, the Channel pays Filmhub according to their payment schedule.

You can check the Payment column in the Schedule tab of the Dashboard to see when each Channel typically sends payment to Filmhub.

Once Filmhub receives and processes the payment, your Statements are updated. You can then transfer your available funds directly from the Statements page.

Filmhub manages the distribution process from submission through monetization, while keeping you updated along the way so you can track where your titles are licensed, when they go live, how they perform, and what you earn.
