Upload Captions for your Main Video

Step 1: Add your Captions via ‘Drag & Drop’ or by clicking on ‘Drop to Upload’ to select your .srt caption file manually.

Note: While English closed captions (SDH) are required for passing quality control (QC), you may add captions in additional languages to increase international appeal.

Step 2: Once your Captions file is uploaded, use the dropdown menus to select the Language and Type.

Caption Types:

  • SDH (required): Subtitles for Deaf and Hard of Hearing audiences

    • Also known as Closed Captions

  • Subtitles: Refers to other language subtitles (i.e. Spanish captions)

  • Forced: Subtitles that go beyond reproducing audio (More info here)

Add Chapters for your Main Video

For a Movie, Chapters serve as Ad Break markers that will be applied to your title if delivered to an Ad-Supported Channel.

A new chapter break should be added every 8-12 minutes. Add Chapters by clicking on ‘+ Add’.

  • Name (optional): Chapters are named automatically, but you may choose to name each chapter manually.

  • Time: The ‘Time’ column represents where each individual chapter break will take place during the Video.

  • Thumbnail Time (optional): The ‘Thumbnail Time’ column is optional, but provides an opportunity to represent a different thumbnail image for that given chapter break.

Upload a Trailer

Upload a Trailer via ‘Drag & Drop’ or by clicking on ‘Select a File’ to add a video from your finder.

For supported browsers (non-Safari), the video uploader will perform a validation check of the video file to identify issues prior to uploading. Learn more about the in-browser validation in the Video Upload Process article.

Save Progress

Once your Main/Trailer Video and/or Captions have been uploaded, select ‘Save Progress’ at the bottom of your screen.

This step is vital. If you don’t Save Progress, you may lose the assets you just uploaded to your Filmhub account.

Allow Video to Complete Processing

Wait for your Video to finish processing (this can take 1-3 days). Once the upload is complete and the file as completed processing, you will be able to playback your Video by clicking the Watch button. Please note, you will not be able to Submit your Movie to QC until all Videos have been fully uploaded.

"What's missing?" and "Submit"

In order to submit your title, all required information and assets must be provided and ready for review. The "What's missing?" button (located in the top right corner) will let you know what information and assets are missing or incomplete. Once all required information and assets have been provided and are ready for review, the "What's missing?" checklist will be empty and the "Submit" will become clickable.

To learn more about "What's missing?" checklist items and how to submit your title to QC, review our How To: Submit Your Title to QC article.
